The purpose of this effort is to begin describing and locating tarantulas in our country. Mexico has such a vast territory that, until now, no one has really been able to search and find all the species indigenous to each of our states.

Currently, we hold the second place in the world for number of species, with Brazil holding first place. If a proper study was made, we would probably get be ranked as number one.
